SURVIVAL Art Review in Kotłownia

SURVIVAL 19th Art Review/ You ain’t going nowhere
June 25-29, 2021
Kotłownia
Fabryczna 14, Wrocław

Survival is an art review taking place in non-obvious urban spaces, combined with a competition for thematic artistic implementation. This year’s edition takes place in Kotłownia (in the former German Linke-Hofmann-Werke factory), a place that was previously abandoned and now restored to Wrocław by our Studio, which is also a strategic partner of the event. The symbolic re-opening of Wrocław’s artistic and social life – after successive lockdowns – will be achieved here through the inseparable: art and architecture. This year’s SURVIVAL is the main exhibition presented on three levels inside the building, as well as artistic projects outside or in the Student Section of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław.

A series of debates on mobility and future scenarios of international artistic exchange will be held at the WSB University adjacent to the Kotłownia, as part of the Social Stage and the Creative Europe program.

The “Forum for Dialogue” will be attended by guests from Poland, Czech Republic, United States, Belgium, and Netherlands. For those interested in the architecture and history of post-war Wrocław, there will be walks around the area of the former Pafawag.

Until the end of the month, in the Szewska Street Gallery, on nine double-sided exhibition windows (located at Szewska Street between Kotlarska and Nożownicza Streets), you can see an exhibition revealing fragments of prepared artistic works presented during the Review.

Admission to SURVIVAL is free – registration is required for the events accompanying the main exhibition – the link to the schedule is available on the official website of the Review.

The organizer of the Review is the Art Transparent Foundation, and the strategic partner of the event is Maćków Pracownia Projektowa. Details of the program are available at www.survival.art.pl or www.arttransparent.org.
