The principal objective of the design was to create a functional, integrated fast city tram (MPK) and train stop (PKP), which would serve large sport events organized in the new city stadium.

The train stop is located on the ground level, on the existing railway line towards Poznań. Above the railway stop, on a platform consisting of two viaducts, there is a fast city tram stop. Platform dimensions and shape were designed to successfully serve the flow of large passenger groups. The platform was covered with a triangular, reinforced concrete roof, emphasizing the view towards the city stadium. A wide, gently sloping platform leads from the tram stop towards the stadium, directing people to a square - the stadium's foreground and buffer zone. The two stops are connected by the stairs and two lifts for passengers in wheelchairs or with baby carriages.

The dynamic yet simple design of the roof over the stop gives the building a modern style, corresponding with the transport function of the fast city tram line. The building materials were limited to structural concrete, steel and natural stone.
