PASSENGER TERMINAL OF INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, WROCLAW
|
|
The terminal, arranged on an elongated rectangular plan, was located parallel to the runway in the central part of the plot, which consequently provided an opportunity for its extension. The rail station building directly neighbours the western wall of the terminal and will be 'absorbed' by the Airport after the extension. The style of the terminal is simple and balanced, and resulted from the need for clarity and functionality of the interior system. The dynamic shape of the roof, with individual strips bent to let extra light in, provides some variety both in the landscape seen from the level of pedestrians or from the air, and in interiors. |
