The area for the future construction of the educational complex has quite a complicated shape which requires a non-standard design approach. Existing buildings of different sizes and styles do not create a consistent spatial structure. This environment needs a building development which will provide additional necessary isolation from neighbouring influence. Following this objective a system was proposed in which buildings arranged on the plot edges outline the inner central part of the campus and visually separate the entire concept from the environment. A characteristic aspect of the designed buildings is its free-style form, adapted to the shapes of the plot and existing buildings. The uniform style of the educational complex was achieved by avoidance of strong emphasis on the facades, which on the outer side of the building were covered by patina steel sheets of irregular formats. To brighten up the interiors some parts of the walls were covered with perforated sheet facing, which helped to retain the consistent style of the building's structure. The facades of the inner space of the campus were filled in with large glazed surfaces. The facades of the overbuilt part of the B building and the hostel were also completely covered with glass. The dominant feature of the concept is a curved roof and a protruding top floor at the corner. |
