The main idea of the design was to establish a new model of a residential city complex fitting the 19th-century urban tissue of the city centre. Most of the historic development in this area, comprised of typical tenement houses, was destroyed during war operations in 1945. The future modern architecture replacing it refers to the remaining buildings by the use of similar materials: brick and stone. From the eastern side apartments open to Odra canals through large glazed surfaces. Wide, comfortable balconies and green terraces were designed on the two highest floors, which reflect the concept of city houses. Inside the developed area there is a yard with parking space and greenery, as well as an access road. On the ground floor, from the side of Bolesława Drobnera and Śrutowa streets, commercial spaces for rent were designed. Top-quality finishing materials for exterior walls were proposed, suitable for the assumed standard of the building. Large windows were designed for the ground floor commercial spaces, while the higher floors will have brick and natural stone facing. |
