The architectural image of the building was mainly determined by the need to complement the existing urban structure with elements of similar dimensions and character. Buildings in this part of Brochów are simple-form multifamily residential houses, with plastered exterior walls and pitched roofs, creating a compact development around Mongolski square. The designed building, corresponding with existing ones in terms of dimensions and following the same town-planning principle, gives no impression of dissonance and improves the arrangement of the existing space. The building consists of four similar rectangular blocks covered with the high double-pitched roofs, connected by the terraces. The composition of blocks creates a cosy inner yard referring to the neighbouring Mongolski square. Under two parts of the complex there are underground garages, and the two remaining parts have no basement. The building complex has forty seven various-size apartments, including two-bedroom flats and large apartments with mezzanine floors and terraces, and one commercial space. Modern finishing materials (mineral coarse-grained plaster, titanium-zinc coated metal sheet, aluminium and wooden joinery and structural concrete) corresponding with the textures and colours of neighbouring older buildings were used. |
