Green 2Day

The construction of the two office buildings – Green Day and Green2Day – was a special adventure. In this case, one plus one is more than two. The modern bodies of the buildings and the public spaces surrounding them have become a hallmark of an agglomeration focused on high quality of life.

Due to the investor’s vast experience in constructing office buildings in Poland’s biggest cities, we managed to come up with the best solutions for the remarkable location. The buildings are situated in one of the most prestigious parts of Wrocław, in close proximity to important monuments, university facilities and public buildings. This is why throughout the design phase much emphasis was put on creating timeless, impressive-looking objects.

The designed buildings filled in the quarter and partially closed the vistas of Szczytnicka and Kardynała Kominka streets. Allocating the ground floor to public, freely-available functions enriches the functional offer of this part of the city, strengthens the nearby walking routes and contributes to the management of tourist traffic from Ostrów Tumski and the river boulevards. By being situated at the junction of important thoroughfares, the object becomes a benchmark for further development along Szczytnicka St. The comprehensive renovation of the surface of pavements and bike paths near the buildings, located on land owned by the city, testifies to care about the quality of surroundings and embeds the buildings in the city fabric.

Embedding the buildings in the architectural context and optimising their typology were the two leitmotifs of the design. The adopted architectural assumptions were reflected in the clear plan of the buildings, with optimal depths of bays and elevation divisions that ensure a freedom of arrangement and good provision of daylight, both in open space and cell office models. The quality of building materials was paramount in order to secure the safety of the construction process and the long lifetime of the buildings. In accordance with the investor’s standards, the objects were certified under the LEED system with respect to their compliance with the principles of sustainable development. The fit-out was designed for a large international company as a smart working space.

The squares in front of the buildings are smoothly integrated into a new pedestrian route near a river boulevard and thus become new spots in the centre of Wrocław, contributing to the city’s character and vitality. The office buildings contain workplaces for several thousand people. We did our best to guarantee the comfort of work inside and the friendliness of space outside the buildings.
